OCT Technology
The health of your eye matters!
We recommend the OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scan to allow for a more in-depth assessment of your eyes.
The most important benefit of the OCT Scan is to detect potentially serious ocular conditions early, long before symptoms occur. Regular monitoring of the retinal layers is vital to maintain healthy eyes, good vision and prevent sight loss.

Upgrade to an Advanced Eye examination to include your OCT. If you are eligible for an NHS examination simply inform our welcoming receptionists to upgrade your appointment for a small additional fee.
Children's Eye Examinations
A young person’s sight is a precious thing; therefore, we recommend having regular check-ups to enable us to identify any potential concerns early on.
Some of the signs to look out for include: squinting eyes to see, moving closer to reading materials, difficulty when reading, writing or drawing or poor performance at school.
Such signs should be addressed promptly to find a solution so that children can enjoy their vision. An eye examination can be a daunting experience for a child, but our friendly team will be there to make it a smooth process and enjoyable experience. We use fun and engaging tests to screen the vision and don’t worry if your child cannot read the letters or is unable to communicate- we are experienced to check using other methods.
At Anstee + Proctor Opticians, we make eye tests fun and want to continue checking the health of your children’s eyes year after year. We usually recommend checking the eyes of your child every year up until the age of 16 unless your optometrist specifies otherwise.
