Myopia Management
What is Myopia (Short-Sightedness)?
Myopia occurs when the eyeball grows fast and becomes too long, or the cornea is too thick, causing images that should focus on the retina to focus in front of it.
The incidence of myopia in children, globally, is expected to rise significantly due to the change of lifestyles. One significant factor is the increase in near-work activities like using digital devices, studying, reading and spending less time outdoors. Hereditary, behavioural, and environmental factors also play a part. Currently, myopia is affecting around 30% of the world’s population.
Scientists are predicting that myopia will affect 50% of the global population by 2050. By managing myopia from a young age, we aim to slow down the progression of myopia to ensure your child is getting the very best vision possible and reduce the risk of long term eye conditions linked to myopia.

MiSight by CooperVision
These clever one-day soft contact lenses utilise ActivControl technology. This special optical design can provide clear vision while reducing the signal that is telling the eye to grow too long. The permeability of the lens design allows for an increase in oxygen flow, which provides your child’s eyes with the best possible comfort throughout the day. These lenses are clinically approved for children from the age of 8 and offer no fuss maintenance due to being single use. To achieve the optimum results, it is recommended that MiSight contact lenses are worn for at least 8 hours in the day, for at least 5 days of the week.
The importance of treatment has increased significantly since myopia is worsening faster in younger children than ever. Early treatment is key!
